The frustrating reality about today's society is that there are entirely too many children in the world that don't receive the kind of medical attention that they need. While vision care is nowhere near as serious an issue as, say, a hungry child, the fact is that one in four American children experiences educational problems directly linked to their inability to see properly.

For most of these children, the fix really is as easy as getting them eyeglasses, but there are many families that simply can't afford to buy their kids the eyewear that they need. To help remedy this issue, a dealership from the Conicelli Autoplex donated a total of $5,000 to "Looking Out for Kids," a vision care initiative in the Norristown Area School District that helps provide free vision services to children who need them.

The Eye Institute of Salus University provides these free vision screenings, but the money donated actually goes not only toward the check-ups, but toward eyeglasses, as well. For uninsured and underinsured children, this is an amazing program that not only helps kids see, but helps them perform better in school as a result.

As your Conshohocken Hyundai dealership, we're proud to be part of an auto group that cares so much about the community. While it's true that consumers looking for new and used Hyundai dealers in Conshohocken don't necessarily make their final decisions based on who is buying eyeglasses for underprivileged kids, these sorts of donations certainly don't hurt anything. The "Looking Out for Kids" program is one of many ways that Conicelli Hyundai is involved in the community, and we continue to be very excited about taking part in equally great initiatives in the future.
